Arlette Crump is a lower elementary lead teacher who is working on her MACTE certification at the Center for Guided Montessori Studies. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English/Media from Hunter College in New York, and a Master of Science in Elementary Education from the City College of New York.
Arlette has been an educator in the public sector for over 15 years, and has taught first through fifth grade for New York City and Atlanta Public Schools. In addition to her instructional duties, she held titles such as Grade Chair, Design Team Leader of Professional Learning Committee, Tutorial and Reading First Facilitator. Arlette currently holds a T5 Teaching Certification in the state of Georgia in the fields of Early Childhood Education (P-5), Middle Grades (4-8) Language Arts, and Middle Grades (4-8) Social Science. She is also an experienced field researcher who has worked with Amplify Education (F/K/A Wireless Generation) while conducting a pilot study at Luella Middle School involving a Tablet Curriculum program.
Arlette has a passion for learning and working with children. She has a charming husband; and three wonderful children of her own, of which she is very exciting to send her son off to college this fall.
Arlette has really embraced her learning of the Montessori approach. She is looking forward to her second year of teaching, and heading up the Curriculum Design Team at ABC Montessori.
