The Middle School???s mastery-based learning includes language arts, pre-algebra, algebra, life science, physical science, Spanish, and social studies. The program allows students to pursue research areas and to extend their learning beyond the classroom. This is accomplished through independent study, extended field trips, outreach, a student-run business, and community internships. Parents, teachers and students work in partnership to guide the self-actualization of the student.
Middle School student matriculate into our High School program as:
- intellectually reflective people with good study habits and organizational skills
- caring and ethical individuals
- good citizens
- people with healthy self-esteem
- STEM students ready for the new world demands
The Middle School strives to fill the needs of the early adolescent. The 12-15 year old is caught between hanging onto the remnants of childhood and being plunged into adulthood. At this crucial period in time, most students thrust into large, impersonal schools where they have few friends and know and trust even fewer adults. Studies show young adolescents are far more at risk for self-destructive behaviors such as educational failure, drug and alcohol abuse, and violence than ever before. We provide a safe, secure and developmentally appropriate environment to ensure that all students can reach their full potential.
